Why was my content rejected?
OFFstep has a quality control team that helps artists and labels adapt their releases to the rules of the DSPs. If your products don’t comply with these rules, our QC team will request the proper changes or refuse the content.
Your products may be rejected for any of the following reasons:
- A request for a correction on the album was resent without the requested change;
- Uploading content that was previously uploaded by another party;
- Use of third party content without proper authorization (including remixes, samples, and beats)
- Generic content, such as: meditation songs, concentration songs, beats, nature sounds, AI generated content, karaoke recordings, jingles, continuous DJ mixes/sets, “open licenses” production music and a track that is recognized as Sound-a-Like;
- Multiple albums uploaded on the account are using the same cover art;
- Most of the of the previous albums uploaded have been rejected;
- Our team identifies that the artist is trying to mislead the stores and fans by adding incorrect or misspelled titles and artist names to get similar search results;
- The track/audio uploaded is a podcast or audiobook;
- The performer/primary artist or feature is underage, and the audio is explicit;
- Failure to follow the OFFstep content guidelines
