OFFstep Content Guidelines

All content uploaded to OFFstep must follow the following guidelines in order to be approved for distribution, in order for your content to be approved you must follow these content guidelines:

Artwork:

• The title displayed on the cover of your album/single/EP must be the same as the title registered in the metadata.
• Artist names included in any cover artwork must match the artist names included in the metadata.
• Artwork must not contain contact information, links, advertisements, URLs, QR codes, hashtags or social media logos.
• Each album must have its own cover art. (You may not use the same image on different products)
• Artwork must not promote hatred based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national/ethnic origin, or other identities.
• The artist must own the rights to all artwork. (Cannot utilize unauthorized 3rd party images.)
• Artwork does not utilize any misleading or additional terms such as “New Video”, “New Release”, “Release”, “Available Now”, “Download now”, etc.

Metadata:

• Songwriters should be listed individually and should include first and last names.
• Metadata must accurately identify explicit content where applicable.
• Titles should be added in the title case
• Artist names should not be misleading.
• Chose accurate genres and languages
• All lyric info must be accurate.
• Do not use label names as artist names
• If you’re registering a compilation, add the title of all the tracks separated by a slash (/). E.g: Title 1 / Title 2 / Title 3.
• Use only the tile in the title field. Artist names, versions, and any other term that is not the tile itself should not be used alongside the title.

Audio, Video, and Artwork Assets:

• The audio file must be in stereo .WAV or .FLAC format, and have at least 44.1kHz and 16 bits.
• Audio should not contain any non-intentional noise, distortions, or technical issues
• Artwork should be:
  •  JPG or PNG. 
  • Minimum size 3000 pixels and perfect square.
  • Color: RGB (including for black and white images)
  • Minimum resolution: 72 dpi
• Video Assets should be:
  • Horizontal oriented
  • Format: .mov OR .mp4
  • Minimum length: 60 seconds
  • Dimensions: 1280px, 1920px, 3840px or 4096px width
  • PASP: 1:1
  • Accepted frame rates: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30
  • Accepted codecs: Prores HQ or XQ (Preferred) and H.264
  • For H.264 VBR expected at least 80 Mbps / Level 4 or higher
  • Chaptering is not supported
• Artwork or video should not be pixelated or contain poor-quality visuals
• Do not use images, names, samples, or beats from third parties without proper authorization.
• Videos with static images or looped images are not allowed
• Videos with subtitles/lyrics on the image are not allowed unless it’s an artistic lyric video

The following kind of content may be rejected by our team: 

• Misleading content (such as sound-alike artists, performers, audios, and images or misleading metadata);
• Content with legal or rights issues;
• The following content is not accepted by OFFstep: meditation songs, concentration songs, beats, sounds of nature, AI generated content, jingles, karaoke recordings, continuous DJ mixes/sets, “open licenses” production music and a track that is recognized as Sound-a-Like.
