The approval team has requested me to provide an authorization to distribute my content. What sort of document is considered valid?
If you’re distributing an album/track as or with an independent artist, you’ll need to provide documentation or request distribution authorization directly from the artist involved in your project. The distribution authorization is a document that confirms you, as a musician or artist, have the right to distribute the album with this registered artist on our platform for digital stores.
This document must be provided by you or the artist in question.
The documents can be:
- A proof that you have registered the phonogram/sound recording(s);
- A proof that you have registered the composition(s);
- A license or authorization for the participation of the artist(s) on the track(s);
- A license for the use of the instrumental/sample/beat/loop/acappella present in the track(s);
- A distribution contract signed by the label and the artist(s) on the track(s)
Please ensure that the document includes the name of the artist, the title of the album, the UPC of the album, and that it is dated and signed. Scan it and send it as an attachment in your message.
