What requirements do I need to meet to ensure my album gets approved?
OFFstep has an approval team that helps artists and labels adapt their releases to the rules of the DSPs. If your album doesn’t comply with these rules, our approval team may request changes to your album.
The main rules are:
- The title displayed on the cover of your Album/Single/EP must be the same as the title registered on your album. Note that: Contact information, links, advertisements, and social media logos are not allowed on artwork.
- Each album must have its own cover art. You may not use the same image on the cover art of different albums/singles. If you wish to use the same design for various releases, we strongly suggest changing the background color of the cover art.
- Do not use images, names, samples, or beats from third parties without proper authorization. Prioritize original content as a way to avoid copyright issues.
- The writers of your album must be registered individually. Bands, groups, or compound artists are not allowed to be registered as writers.
- Always choose correctly, if the track is Explicit or not.
- In case your album is “Live” don’t forget to add this on the Version section of the tracks registration
Our team also prepared an article about content that is eligible for distribution on OFFstep: Reasons why your content may be rejected
