Reasons why your video may be rejected

OFFstep has an approval team that helps artists and labels ensure their releases comply with DSP rules. If your video doesn’t meet these guidelines, it may be rejected by our team.

Below are some of the main, but not exhaustive, reasons why a video can be rejected:

  • A notification was sent asking for a correction on the album, but no changes were made;
  • The artist is using third-party content without proper authorization;
  • Generic content was uploaded, such as: podcast videos, meditation songs, concentration songs, beats, sounds of nature, or tracks that are recognized as Sound-a-Like;
  • Our team identifies that the artist is attempting to mislead stores and fans by using incorrect or misspelled titles and artist names to achieve similar search results;
  • The video is a Live performance, and the title is not registered correctly;
  • Videos with low resolution or poor quality;
  • Videos with low audio quality;
  • Compilation videos. If you’re uploading a concert DVD, the video must be split by track and uploaded individually;
  • Static videos;
  • Vertical videos;
  • Lyric videos;
  • Videos containing subtitles;
  • Videos with looping images;
  • Videos featuring underage individuals that include inappropriate content (such as pornography or inappropriate themes, images of sex, nudity, alcoholic beverages, weapons, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, violence, etc).
