Video albums guidelines
Before you start uploading your video, please check the article with the general specs for videos. Now that you have your video set up in the correct format, it is time to see what can or can’t be done while you’re uploading your video through OFFstep.
- On the video title, register only the title of the video, no extra information is allowed such as the artist name, label name or featuring artists.
- If your video is a live video, the title of the video must be registered in the following format: Place where it was recorded, City where it was recorded, Year when it was recorded. E.g: Live at Music Hall, New York, 2023.
- If you’re registering a Potpourri video, add the title of all the tracks separated by a slash (/). E.g: Title 1 / Title 2 / Title 3.
- Label names cannot be registered as the primary artist of your video. Please check the articles: How to register the artists of your album/video, and Can I register my label as the primary artist of my album?
- The writers of your album must be registered individually. Bands, labels, production companies cannot be registered as the writers.
- Register the version, if necessary, E.g: Acoustic, Remix, Instrumental, Live, Cover, etc. Do not use Official Version as a version
- If your video has inappropriate lyrics (containing pornography or inappropriate themes), images of sex, nudes, alcoholic beverages, weapons, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, or violence, your video will be approved and will be allowed on digital platforms as long as the “Explicit” field is properly set up. If you fit the above characteristics, check the explicit option at the time of registration.
- Only horizontal videos are accepted;
- Videos with inappropriate lyrics (containing pornography or inappropriate themes), images of sex, nudes, alcoholic beverages, weapons, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, violence and features someone that is underage, whether as the primary or the featuring artist, won’t be approved;
- DO NOT use: logos of digital platforms and websites
- DO NOT use: release dates, emails, advertisements, or phone number
- DO NOT use expressions such as: “New Video”, “New Release”, “Release”, “Available Now”, “Download now”, etc
