Video albums guidelines

Before you begin uploading your video, please review the article outlining the general specifications for videos. Once your video is formatted correctly, it’s time to familiarize yourself with the rules regarding what can and can’t be done during the upload process via OFFstep.

  • The video title should include only the title of the video – no additional information, such as artist names, label names, or featuring artists.
  • If your video is a live performance, the title must follow this format: the venue where it was recorded, the city where it was recorded, and the year it was recorded. For example: Live at Music Hall, New York, 2023.
  • Music videos, including live videos, must contain only one song. Medleys are not accepted.
  • Label names cannot be registered as the primary artist for your video. Please refer to the articles: How to register the artists of your album/video, and Can I register my label as the primary artist of my album?
  • The writers of your album must be listed individually. Bands, labels, production companies cannot be registered as writers.
  • If applicable, specify the version of the video (e.g., Acoustic, Remix, Instrumental, Live, Cover, etc.). Do not use “Official Version” as a version type.
  • If your video contains explicit content (including pornography, inappropriate themes, images of sex, nudity, alcoholic beverages, weapons, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, or violence), it can still be approved and distributed on digital platforms as long as the “Explicit” field is correctly marked. If your video falls into these categories, ensure that the explicit option is selected during registration.
  • Only horizontal videos are accepted;
  • Videos featuring inappropriate content with underage individuals, whether as primary or featured artists (including pornography, inappropriate themes, images of sex, nudity, alcoholic beverages, weapons, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, or violence), will not be approved.
  • DO NOT use: logos of digital platforms and websites.
  • DO NOT use: release dates, emails, advertisements, or phone numbers.
  • DO NOT use phrases such as: “New Video”, “New Release”, “Release”, “Available Now”, “Download now” “Official Video”, etc.
